Will Atletico Madrid Be Tested?

After the short winter break La Liga play gets back in action with the biggest match being Malaga hosting Atletico Madrid. Malaga sits in 10th place in the league table and are home underdogs facing Atletico Madrid.

Midweek at Bodog Atletico Madrid is at -200 with Malaga at +600 and a draw line of +300.

The La Liga race is, basically, between the three teams of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid with 46 points each and Real Madrid with 41 points. Athletic Bilbao sits in fourth place and they have 33 points.

Malaga is unbeaten in their last three league matches and facing the top teams they have not fared that badly. They lost at home to Barcelona early this season 1-0 and on the road facing Real Madrid they lost 2-0.

In 15 matches Atletico Madrid only has one loss and one draw. Their offense is in top form and they have scored 15 goals in their last four matches. Malaga does have a good defense, but a less than dynamic offense and for them to have any shot to win they must play a low-scoring defensive match.

Atletico Madrid needs a win, as Barcelona and Real Madrid are both HUGE betting favorites at home facing clubs out of the top 13 in the league table.

In another big match this weekend seventh place side Sevilla plays host to eighth place side Getafe. Sevilla is the home favorite posted at +175 with Getafe at +400 and a draw line at +300.
