Colombia vs Brazil Betting Preview

Brazil got a scare in their round of 16 match beating Chile on penalty kicks and they are the betting favorite facing a dangerous Colombia squad that has been impressive so far.

Brazil has not looked great in the tournament and they were less than impressive facing Chile in the round of 16 match winning on penalty kicks.

Bovada has Brazil as the World Cup betting favorite posted at -120 with Colombia posted at +386 and a draw line of +287.

Neymar has gotten it done for the Brazil on the attack and is tied for second in the tournament in goals scored (4). However, while he has played well fellow striker Fred has not helped out much and attacking MF Oscar had a good opening match, but has not looked good in the last three.

Neymar may not be 100% after suffering a thigh injury in the Chile match.

One big worry for Brazil is that MF Luiz Gustavo, who is one of the better defenders for the squad picked up a second yellow card in the Chile match and will not be available facing Colombia.

The tournament leader in goals in Colombia’s James Rodriguez, who scored in every group match and then scored both of the goals in the 2-0 over Uruguay in the round of 16. Juan Cuadrado has a goal and four assists and his play will be key as well.

Colombia’s perceived weakness coming into the World Cup was their defense, but they have only conceded two goals so far with a clean sheet in their last match (see over-under line updates at BetOnline).

Brazil will look more like the team many though they would this summer, but that will not be enough against a Colombia team that is in better form. Colombia will be advancing to the semifinals.

Brazil vs Colombia Prediction: 3-1 Colombia
