Colombia vs Uruguay Betting Preview

Uruguay should be heading into this match with confidence after they won a must-win match facing Italy in their last group encounter.

However, star striker Luis Suarez will miss the match, as well as the next four months, after his third biting incident and his loss is a big one.

Colombia is the betting favorite in the match and while they may be flying a bit under the radar they were great in group play with three wins scoring nine goals and only conceding two.

Bovada has Colombia as the World Cup betting favorite posted at +120 with Uruguay at +230 and a draw line of +250.

Uruguay has won their last six matches facing Colombia.

Even with Suarez out Uruguay does have a good attack with Edinson Cavani and Diego Godin, who scored the lone goal in the 1-0 win over Italy. The defense is the weakness of the Colombians and even though they only allowed two goals in group play they did not play a squad with a good attack.

Colombia’s offense has not missed star striker Radamel Falcao one bit, as the squad has a +7 goal differential, which tied with Holland for the best in the tournament. Jackson Martinez scored two goals in the last match and James Rodriguez has three goals so far.

Uruguay will have to play solid defense and get good midfield play like they did facing Italy in their last match.
