First Time World Cup Winner?

One of the more unique bets that Bet365 is offering is will there be a first time winner for the World Cup? Odds makers do not think so, as the odds for No is at -450 and for Yes is at +300.

The top four teams that have the best betting odds are Brazil, Argentina, Germany, and 2010 champion Spain. The first three teams have won multiple World Cup trophies and it is no shock that the teams with the best two odds are the South American ones of host Brazil and Argentina.

Belgium has the fifth best overall betting odds to win the tournament (+1600) and they are a dark horse to win the tournament. They have never won the World Cup, but have a young squad that has no real weaknesses and they are not in the toughest of groups. Their best showing in the World Cup was a fourth place finish in 1986 and they are hungry, as they did not even qualify for the last two WC tournaments.

Colombia has the seventh best odds at +2000 and they would be a first time winner. Like Belgium they have a young squad and they also have a solid attack. Their group is not the easiest, but they still have the best odds to get out of their group. Their best showing in the World Cup is the round of 16 and they are playing in their first WC tournament since 1998.

Portugal is another team with solid odds (+3300) that has never won the World Cup. Their best showing was in 1966 coming in third place and while they have a good squad led by superstar Cristiano Ronaldo they are playing in the Group of Death.
