France vs Germany Betting Odds

Germany has not looked great since their 4-0 thrashing of Portugal in their opening World Cup match and they needed extra time to beat Algeria in the round of 16.

However, while they have lost four of their last six matches facing France they are the World Cup betting favorite facing Les Bleus.

After their embarrassing showing in the 2010 World Cup France won their group and then beat Nigeria in the round of 16. They had an impressive start to the tournament all over the pitch, but not so much in the last two matches and can they win and keep Germany from making their fourth straight World Cup semifinals appearance?

Bovada has Germany posted at +148 with France at +216 and a draw line of +230.

France has not looked good on offense since they crushed Switzerland 5-2 in group play and Karim Benzema needs to get back on track. MF Paul Pogba, who scored the deciding goal in the 2-0 win over Nigeria, may give Germany troubles since he is a physical player that can press forward on the attack.

Germany has the slightly better midfield, but they have to create scoring chances and look for Sami Khedira to be in the starting lineup after his solid match when coming in late in the round of 16 win over Algeria.

France does have two clean sheets in their last two World Cup matches, but keeping Thomas Muller, who has four goals in four matches, and Mario Gotze and Mesut Ozil in check is a tall task. France must play well all over the pitch to score the upset and advance to the semifinals.

Germany has not looked great in the last two matches, but they are due. They are a better squad and it will show on the pitch, as they will beat France in a low scoring affair.
