Odds Argentina Will Win World Cup 2014

Argentina are heavy -400 favorites to win Group F, and trail only host Brazil in World Cup 2014 betting, sporting 9/2 odds to claim their third World Cup title, and first since 1986. The Argentines have a lot to prove at Brazil 2014, after not advancing beyond the quarterfinals since reaching the finals in 1990. Argentina should have little trouble dominating in Group F. But anything less than a championship run will be viewed at home as a disappointment.

Argentina Odds to Win World Cup 2014: 9/2 (from Bovada)
Argentina Odds to Win Group F: -400 (from Bovada)

After dominating in the qualification round, Argentina has experienced a letdown, winning just one of their last four matches; a 2-0 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina, the toughest competition the Argentines will face in the Group Stage. However, Argentina owns a potent offense, led by striker Lionel Messi, an 8/1 favourite to lead the tournament in goal scoring. Argentina’s toughest challenge is not likely to come until the quarterfinals, when they could face the likes of Germany, Portugal or Belgium.

Early World Cup Pick

Argentina are a heavy -400 favorite to win Group F, and will face their biggest challenge of the Group Stage when they face Bosnia-Herzegovina in their first match of the tourney. Argentina has not conceded a goal in two matches all-time against Bosnia-Herzegovina, whom they last faced in a friendly last November. While Nigeria’s national side has seen steady improvement in recent years, including winning the 2013 African Cup of Nations, they are unlikely to pose a serious threat to Argentine dominance in Group F. Argentina has never faced Iran on the pitch. Distant +330 underdogs to win Group F, Iran will need to play outstanding defense just to keep things close.
